29 Weeks!

A lot has happened this week!
To start off, I had an appointment on Monday. It went well and everything still seems to be going great with our little Kris. She is just as squirmy as ever! It makes me laugh when the doctor tries to check her heartbeat and she keeps moving so he doesn't get an accurate reading.

Our washing machine is leaking! It's a good thing I have a handy husband who doesn't mind working on things. He has never fixed a washing machine, so he doesn't really know what he is doing, but man he is trying and I am so thankful for that.

Greg got my bow holder hung on the wall of the nursery, and on Saturday Greg and his sister will be painting the big tree on the wall. This has been something we have wanted to do before we even found out the gender of the baby. I can't wait to see what the finished product will look like. My vision for the nursery is for it to be very pretty and girly, but not whimsical. It is difficult to do that because I love cutesy things! I just have this vision for the nursery that I want to match. It's a good thing my sweet husband seems to be on the same page as me. He knows exactly what I am looking for.

Also in the nursery, we got a rug. It is brown and soft. It is still in its packaging because we found another rug for $30 more that is absolutely perfect! It is a purple shag rug. It would be so soft to sit on and the color is seriously amazing, I just don't know if I can spend another $30 on the rug. It seems silly. Greg and I had this great idea to get regular white outlet covers and paint them purple. They look awesome! When we moved into our house, the room that we are using for the nursery was a really bright pink. It was awful, it seriously gave us headaches walking in it. It had a light switch plate that had a butterfly and was pink. We painted the room grey and then the light switch plate purple. I can't wait to be finished with the nursery so we can show off the finished product! Those purple plates sure do make it look amazing in there!

My first order of diapers came in yesterday and they are super cute! I am so excited about cloth diapering. I have done so much research and really feel like this is right for our family. It is so much  more green than using disposable diapers, and that is definitely a big reason we wanted to do it, but it is also so much cheaper! Diapers are expensive! I know these will take a lot of work, but I am confident that we will be able to do it.

On to the weekly checkups:

28 weeks update

Officially in my third trimester! Only 88 more days until my due date. I have so much to get done and I am really running out of time. I have scheduled our birthing classes, which makes this pregnancy seem that much more real. I am so thankful that this girl is staying so healthy inside of me. Despite everything that is going on with my body, she has been right on track every time she has been checked. That feels amazing to me!

October is my favorite month, and I am really hoping I have an October baby. She is due October 14th, but the doctor predicts she will come early because I have already gone into labor once. I love October because of the beautiful weather and foliage. I can't wait to drink hot apple cider while sitting on the porch rocking my sweet baby girl to sleep.

I keep thinking of how awesome holidays this year will be! I know Kris won't really be able to enjoy Christmas morning or the traditions we are starting with her this year, but it is going to be so different doing everything with a baby, and I can't wait for the experience.

On to the weekly questions:
How far along? 28 Weeks
Stretch marks? None that are noticeable yet
Sleep: I have been very lucky in the sleeping department so far. I am so exhausted when I lay down, I usually fall asleep fast and only wake up a few times to pee.
Best moment this week: Making bows with my sweet friend. We made so many and it made me tear up thinking of my sweet baby's head with a bow.
Miss Anything? Being able to fit in my clothes. Working out until I can barely breathe. And, sleeping on my tummy.
Movement: Constantly!
Food cravings: Nope.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Still pretty much constantly sick.
Gender: Girl
Labor Signs: No
Symptoms: Sick, and some heartburn
Belly Button in or out? Last night I coughed and my belly button popped out and then went back in! It was like a meat thermometer.
Wedding rings on or off? On, and actually loose.
Happy or Moody most of the time: So happy to have this little miracle
Looking forward to: working more on the nursery. It is a never ending process it seems!

27 Week update

I have said it before, and I will say it again- I love being pregnant!

Kris is crazy active lately, and it is so much fun to watch my belly move. I can't wait to meet her! I feel so in love with this baby girl, and I want to smother her with love. Already, so many people love this baby. I was given a beautiful cross stitch quilt, made by a sweet woman at my church. So much time had to have been put into that quilt, I cried when I got it. Everyone is excited about her. I feel like she is coming into a world full of love for her before anyone has even gotten the chance to meet her.

I ordered cloth diapers yesterday!! YAY! They are coming from China, so it will probably be at least a month before they get here, but it will be like Christmas when they come! If any of you pregnant women, or women with young kids haven't considered cloth diapers, do some research. I bought 23 diapers and that will last from newborn until she is potty trained for just $120. It is estimated that parents using disposable diapers will spend $3500 during that period on diapers alone! Plus, cloth diapers can be used for multiple children, so it will save us even more money, not to mention that cloth diapers are better for the Earth.

We are buying the crib tonight :) That is such a huge deal to us! We wanted this crib that we found at babies 'r us, but it was about $100 over what we ideally wanted to spend. With all of our other expenses, we had pretty much decided not to get this specific crib. However, one of Kris' sets of grandparents (actually my aunt and uncle, but grandma and grandpa to Kris) bought our bed set for us which saved us nearly $150 in our budget! That meant we could get our crib! The crib is perfect, and as soon as the nursery is finished I will post photos of everything we have done with it.

I will officially be done with week 27 on Sunday. This means, I will be 7 months pregnant (confusing, but pregnancy is actually 10 months if you consider every 4 weeks to be a month, which is what they go by) and in my third trimester! I have been sick the entire pregnancy so far, and a lot of times first trimester symptoms come back during third trimester. Luckily for me though, I never really lost first trimester symptoms, so it won't be too much harder for me.

I will probably not miss being pregnant. Even though I love feeling her move inside of me, I can't wait to feel healthy again! I am not ready for it to be over yet though. Does that make sense? It seems like I am contradicting myself a lot.

Anyway, on to the weekly questions:

How far along? 27 Weeks
Stretch marks? Not yet, though there was a scare a couple days ago. I think it was a false alarm.
Sleep: It depends on if I can shut my brain off. We have a lot to do with the nursery, and I am always thinking about that. I sleep pretty well once I get to sleep though.
Best moment this week: Ordering diapers yesterday! It felt like such a big weight off my shoulders.
Miss Anything? Cold sandwhiches. You can't have cold sandwhich meat when you are pregnant because of lysteria scares, but man I want a turkey sandwhich with avacado and tomatoes.
Movement: She is quite the mover.
Food cravings: No real cravings yet.
Anything making you queasy or sick: No one particular thing, it seems being awake makes me sick ;)
Gender: Girl
Labor Signs: No
Symptoms: Just sick
Belly Button in or out? In, but definitely less deep.
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Incredibly happy
Looking forward to: Getting the crib and hopefully setting it up tonight.

25 Weeks, 5 days.

26 Weeks pregnant update:

Baby girl is about 14 inches long this week! She can detect light. Apparently if I shine a light at my stomach, she will visibly move away from it, though I have yet to test this. I am still loving being pregnant. I love feeling all of her movements. She is a very active baby. When she isn't moving I am concerned. I have heard, though, that baby will sleep a lot right before a major growth spurt. I try to take comfort in that for her less wiggly days.

She is starting to get really heavy. She is positioned all in front and kind of high on my tummy. I have definitely got the pregnancy waddle down! It has been super hot here in Oklahoma, but we are expecting a storm to hit Sunday night. I will welcome that cool rain with open arms.

Swimming has felt amazing! With this extra bump on my front I love feeling weightless in the pool. All of my aches and pains go away almost immediately. That is definitely a plus for being pregnant during the summer!

I made a tutu for her tigger outfit last night. I think it turned out really cute! This girl is going to be so girly! I love all the girl things-bows, tutus, and glitter!

How far along? 26 Weeks
Stretch marks? Still none yet. (fingers crossed)
Sleep: It seems like if I get to bed before 10 I sleep hard, if I get in bed any later I can't sleep.
Best moment this week: Feeling her move during the fireworks. I don't think she liked them at all, but I was getting some really strong kicks!
Miss Anything? I miss not throwing up everyday!
Movement: Quite a bit!
Food cravings: Still no real cravings, though potatoes sit best in my tummy.
Anything making you queasy or sick: I have to be really careful with what smells I am around. Also, I have to make sure to be snacking almost constantly!
Gender: Girl
Labor Signs: No
Symptoms: Sick, and some heartburn if I have anything lime, some hip pain (but not too bad yet)
Belly Button in or out? Still hanging in there.
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: So So Happy!
Looking forward to: Girls night on the 20th! It will be a lot of fun to be with my girls again, it has been a while!
